Hello, I am Tsuyumi
Art has always been a big part of my life. At a young age I became proficient at calligraphy and started painting. As a teenager I became involved in television and acted in various Japanese dramas before entering Tama Art University to study Theatre and Art. I had travelled quite a bit by this stage, and had an opportunity to spend some time studying art history in Italy. On return to Japan and after a stint in Australia, through turns of fate, I entered into a period of work as a radio and television announcer in Tokyo, setting my brushes aside.
Now in Singapore, in a new chapter of life, I have dusted off my easel and rediscovered my love of painting. In the past I have used many different mediums, I am currently using acrylics which I find better suited to the tropical atmosphere. Colour and light are very important to me as my work is an expression of feeling. This is often interpretive rather than photo-realistic and because of this I prefer not to constrain my painting style. I hope you enjoy my work. Please contact me if you would like to own some!
